ACTIVATE was created in response to a simple truth: teens benefit deeply from spaces that support identity, confidence, and real world readiness.

Growing into adulthood involves decisions, relationships, emotions, and pressure—often all at once. ACTIVATE exists to offer tools, conversations, and experiences that help teens build an internal foundation they can rely on as they move forward.

This work centers on emotional intelligence, communication, self-leadership, and purpose, because these skills shape how young people navigate every part of life.

Founders

ACTIVATE was co-founded by Corrin Douglass and Jeff Douglass, grounded in years of lived experience, deep relationship with teens, and a shared commitment to integrity and care.

ACTIVATE was built from life. From decades of parenting. Decades of volunteering. Years of showing up for teens at Las Vegas Academy. And from the sacred stretch of time Corrin spent running The Warehouse—a gritty, imperfect, fiercely real teen center that shaped everything that came after.

Together, Corrin and Jeff opened their home, journeyed alongside teens week after week, witnessed their growth and resilience, and watched them discover their strength in real time. Those experiences formed the heartbeat of ACTIVATE.

To the Warehouse family: you are forever tattooed on our hearts. ACTIVATE carries pieces of you in every corner. It is part of your legacy, honoring the truth, courage, and potential of every teen.

ACTIVATE Board of Directors

ACTIVATE is led by an Inaugural Board of Directors that brings together lived experience, clinical insight, and community-rooted expertise.

Corrin Douglass, President, a longtime nonprofit leader and teen mentor. Her work centers on clarity, inclusion, and values-aligned growth, informed by her training as a certified neuroscience coach, health coach, and breathwork coach supporting emotional regulation, resilience, and purposeful development.

Waynnesha Wedlow, LCSW, Secretary, a licensed clinical social worker serving in a public high school counseling office and in private practice. Her frontline experience supporting adolescents and families brings trauma-informed insight, ethical rigor, and emotionally intelligent leadership to ACTIVATE’s programs and governance.

Dr. Zaki Afzal, DPT, Treasurer, founder of Optimize Physical Therapy and Optimize Academy. His work intersects healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship, bringing strategic insight, financial stewardship, and systems level thinking to ACTIVATE’s long-term sustainability and impact.

Together, these leaders bring complementary perspectives—strategic vision, mental and emotional wellbeing, physical and somatic literacy, and community accountability—united by a shared belief in the potential of every teen. Their partnership anchors ACTIVATE in integrity, evidence-informed guidance, and a genuine commitment to equipping young people with tools for confidence, clarity, and life-readiness.

Founding Partner

ACTIVATE launched in partnership with Las Vegas Academy, which serves as ACTIVATE’s founding partner.

Las Vegas Academy is part of the Clark County School District, one of the nation’s largest public school districts, and serves a highly diverse student population. Students at LVA come from across the district, reflecting the full breadth of backgrounds, neighborhoods, and lived experiences found throughout CCSD.

Through this partnership, ACTIVATE receives ongoing insight from teens and educators that informs content, tone, and experience design. This collaborative relationship helps ensure ACTIVATE remains relevant, resonant, and grounded in what matters to young people across communities.

ACTIVATE’s digital platform is available nationally, extending its reach beyond any single school or district.
